Ghost Sign Restoration & Addition
"Sanitary Bakery" occupied this historic building circa 1922. The current owner wanted to restore the wall advertisement to enhance the look and honor the history before it was lost. The smaller lettering was completely faded from the old ghost mural which led to research in old yearbooks , historic photos and community outreach. An article ran in the Williamson County Sun asking for more information to fill in the missing words. A local citizen provided a yearbook with the original name and decedents. Even the family contacted me to provide more context. Together we were able to fill in the blanks of the missing lettering and establish the date the Bakery opened, most likely in 1922. Circa 1922 was added to the historic advertisement to give it context. The new owner's wanted to add their current business name at the bottom which was done in reverse colors to visually separate them. The date of that business was also added.
