Slapbox Pizzicheria: Hand Painted Accent Walls.
Slapbox’s Austin location: 9900 W Parmer Austin, TX 78717 —4th location for the Slapbox/600 Degrees family.
Wall 1: Brand new mural, but a brand new look is not the goal on this one. Big, bold diamond pattern with S L A P B O X lettering & their iconic pizza guy in the center .
Mark Thompson, an owner of Slapbox Pizzicheria & 600° Pizzeria, loves aged signs/murals. It is the reason we first met back in 2015 when I was asked to restore the "Sanitary Bakery" ghost sign on the side of 600°-- with the goal to make it legible again, but leave it faded in areas so it didn't look brand new. I consider this connection the kicking off point of my solo mural career. It was my first paid big project on my own...then came the first Slapbox location in Round rock. Mark helped give me the courage to go for it and has always provided great creative ideas to bounce off of. I owe a lot to Mark and appreciate the trust and opportunities! Big thanks!
Also huge thanks to Vince Garcia for getting me the 600° ghost sign restoration project, your connection was crucial and I will always remember that!

Wall 2: Accent Wall on the left side of the bar
The vintage diamond pattern on the large wall was a little reminiscent of a circus design to me. I was given carte blanche on the bar wall...so played around with a circus inspired theme complete with balancing pizzas and drinks ,an elephant balancing on a meatball with onions spinning on his trunk, and the strongest man lifting barrels of Slapbox beer...they liked it!
They can't wait to welcome you inside and see the pizza throwing show...bring your peculiar oddities to add to the fun
