Little Lemon| Located at 402 W 8th St, Georgetown, TX 78626

Little Lemon is the 2nd location for Sweet Lemon Kitchen. Both are located downtown; Little Lemon is located inside Georgetown Public Library, and the original Sweet is at 812 S Church St. Both s focus on fresh farm-to-table food. The Little Lemon offers coffee, pastries and sandwiches.

This one, I was so excited to design & paint. It didn't work out how I planned, couldn't nail the design after a number of tries. It was a gut punch to the ego which at first made me want to quit. Instead, I kept the motto from my last job in mind "BE A DEDICATED PARTNER" and offered to help paint if they had another artist nail their vision. I totally believe in Sweet Lemon's mission and being a part of their expansion would be a big honor. This is when a story can get richer and other artists get to be a part of the partnership.

Michaela Bollinger is a designer and small scale painter. Michaela was able to capture Little Lemon's vision! I was asked to come back into the project to paint her design. Congratulations Michaela, your work is now a huge part of Little Lemon! I hope you like seeing your art cover the whole wall and hope I have done it justice. https://michaelabollinger.myportfolio.com/

And the bonus partnership: My Mom flew in from VA (for my daughter's recital) on the last day painting Little Lemon. A surprise partnership/painting day with my mom! She's had my back since day one with all my art endeavors, taking art classes with me when I was little, and embroidering my logo on my shirts/aprons today. Look, we have matching aprons on in the photos!

Some behind the scenes. I listen to a lot of murder mystery podcasts while painting because it helps distract my brain so I can focus on painting.

I like motivational audio books occasionally, but I can't do them all the time because they overwork my brain . This is what happens when I have a good book and I'm trying to take notes along the way. I paint on my drop cloth

This is a great book. I recommend it.....Grit by Angela Duckworth. I am very lucky to have a passion I've known since childhood. And I have natural skill at it. But "our potential is one thing, what we do with it is another". We won't get anywhere without effort and grit. And our natural skill can continue to grow if we continue to put effort into it. I know I have lots of room to grow still!

I also liked how she discussed people that felt they don't have a natural passion or talent. We have to "play" more, like kids, continue to explore the world. As adults, we sometimes get stuck in not exploring new things. But if we continue to play, explore, discover, we may still come across that passion we didn't know about. One example was Julia Childs. She didn't have a passion for cooking etc. when she was little. It was a trip to France where she fell in love with French cuisine and that sparked a passion she didn't even know she had...took her 40 something years to find that passion. So, don't stop exploring, you never know when that spark will hit you .
